Homework

| I. The Center School's philosophy regarding homework is as
follows: |
A) It teaches the student to accept responsibility
for his or her own work.
B) It provides additional practice in skills, and reinforces skills
and concepts.
C) It teaches the student to apply these skills in all subject areas.

| II. The Center School's expectations are as follows: |
A) Students are expected to complete their homework assignments each
night in preparation for the next day's lessons.
|
1. Weekly entries in the journal of at least one full page.
2. Daily reading at home for at least 20 minutes.
3. Completion of work begun in class, i.e. math, as well as regular
homework assignments.
|
B) Students are expected to check their class schedules for the following
day, and review their next day's work.
|
C) Long range assignments
A time should be devoted each night to work on long range assignments,
such as Social Studies research projects, etc. so that all of it is
not done under pressure at the last moment.
