STATEMENT OF POLICY



ARRIVAL
The school day begins at 8:30 AM. (School is dismissed at 3:00 PM)

LATENESS TO SCHOOL
*After several late arrivals: warning letter sent home to parent.
*Excessive late arrivals: parental conference will be called.

ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL
1. Parents should notify the school immediately if any student will be absent from school for more than one day due to illness, or any family emergency.
2. Any class assignements and homework assignments are to be made up.

DISMISSAL - LEAVING THE BUILDING
1. For their safety, student will leave the building at the end of the school day.
2. During the school day, NO student may be sent home or leave the building without the written permission of the parent, and for legitimate reasons.
3. Students who must attend Dentist/Doctor's office during school hours, or before attending school, should verify their attendance with a note or appointment slip.

STUDENT MATERIALS
1. In order for children to work effectiely, they must bring the following materialsevery day:
*a looseleaf notebook
*a hard-covered composition book
*pens and 2 pencils

2. Students must have a good dictionary.

LUNCH
1. All students who eat lunch out of school must have written permission from home.
2. Food throwing, fighting, running, or playing ball in the cafeteria consitute unacceptable behavior for Center School students.
3. Students are expected to remove their trays from the table.
4. No food, gum, pumpkin seeds, etc. are to be brought into any classroom at any time. Teachers may confiscate and discard such items.

TEXTBOOKS
1. Any student who loses a textbook will pay full price for the replacement of the book.
2. Students will have their textbooks at all times unless instructed otherwise by teachers.
3. Books much be covered.

HOMEWORK
When homework is given (at the discretion of the teacher), it is to be done and/or made up, where possible.

STATEMENT OF POLICY
If in the opinion of the Staff, The Center School cannot provide the proper environment for a given student's growth, The Center School will notify the parent/guardian that the student will be better served elsewhere.
