Important Details to Know for Friday, October 27th & Next Week!
Friday, October 27th: Dismissal is 3:00 PM
Wednesday November 1st: Progress reports will be sent home with students.
Thursday, November 2nd and Friday, November 3rd: Parent/Teacher conferences. NO After school on Thursday, November 2nd.
A reminder that Friday, November 3rd is a half-day. School will be dismissed at 12:00 pm Noon.
Pledge Drive
We are happy to announce our Pledge Drive has already raised $5,000! Along with our Auction, the Pledge Drive, is one of our largest fundraisers! Our target goal for the Pledge Drive this year is $70,000. We have included both a QR code and a link to streamline the donation process. Update to “What to do when your student is sick”
When your student is out sick, please either call the school directly or email the attendance email at CSNYAttendance@gmail.com. Please include your student’s advisor as well as Ms. Lopez on the email.
School & Community Events
Halloween Party:
The school will host its annual Halloween party TOMORROW, Friday, October 27th. Students have received their supply assignment and should also bring in a non-perishable canned or boxed food item. Students should wear regular clothes to school but bring in their costume to change into at lunchtime. DISMISSAL TOMORROW IS 3:00 PM.
If you have questions, please reach out to your student’s advisor.
Community Coffee:
We will be hosting our next community Coffee on Friday, November 10th following morning drop-off in the school courtyard located at 83rd & Columbus (the entrance for students). We encourage you to bring your own reusable coffee mug or thermos.
Auction
Thank you for the donations and generosity from this community! The auction preparation is off to a wonderful start!
We are requesting 2 donations per household.
All forms for the auction are available in the, “PTA Fundraising/Curriculum Night Auction 2024” section of the website: https://thecenterschool.org/auction/.
In an effort to reduce paper we have a link to the Auction Outreach Letter for merchants on the CS Website under, “PTA Fundraising/Curriculum Night Auction 2024.”
We are asking that you please print this letter as you seek donations on an “as needed” basis.
The website will also allow for auction donation form entry without the need for paper.

CRJE
The Committee for Racial Justice and Equity (CRJE) held its first meeting on October 25th. New members joined – and there is still room for more! We are always working to build belonging in our school community.
