Pledge Drive

School & Community Events
Community Coffee:
We will be hosting our next community Coffee this Friday, November 10th following morning drop-off in the school courtyard located at 83rd & Columbus (the entrance for students). We encourage you to bring your own reusable coffee mug or thermos.
Monthly PTA Meeting:
The Center School PTA is inviting you to our next PTA Meeting on Monday, November 13th at 6:00 pm.
Mix & Mingle:
We will be hosting our rescheduled Mix & Mingle on Friday, November 17th at 5:00 PM. The event will be hosted both in the cafeteria and the school yard. Pizza plus gluten free options to be provided.
Message from the School Social Workers
The social work team within The Center School consists of Annette Berkery LMSW and Mary O’Brien LCSW-R, CASAC. We conduct individual as well as group therapy for children with mandated counseling as well as “at risk counseling.” We provide crisis intervention within the school when needed and conduct mediation sessions when cases of bullying arise. Furthermore, we support and offer resources to advisory meetings when traumatic situations occur around the world and within our communities.
The social work team is ready to provide counseling and support to any student who is feeling the impact of the conflicts in Israel and Palestine, Russia, and Ukraine. If your child is struggling with present-day wars and conflict in the world, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

CRJE
CRJE met on Monday, November 6th.
The committee continues to think about multiple perspectives and consider ways for every student and family to feel seen, safe and welcome at Center School.
CRJE is considering Volunteer Days to enhance belonging and positive energy among our school community.
More information to come – and ideas and new members are welcome!

Auction
The next Auction meeting will be tomorrow, Thursday November 9th after drop off at Angela’s house:15 West 72nd St Apt 12b.
All are welcome to attend. We will be discussing all aspects of the auction, from donations to operations to decor.

To reduce paper, we have a link to the Auction Outreach Letter for merchants on the CS Website under, “PTA Fundraising/Curriculum Night Auction 2024.”
We are asking that you please print this letter as you seek donations on an, “as needed” basis.
The website will also allow for auction donation form entry without the need for paper.

Surplus Halloween Candy
We are collecting any surplus and leftover Halloween Candy to send to military personnel stationed overseas. Tomorrow, Thursday November 9th is the last day for collection. Please have your students bring any candy donations to the Center School Office.
