News+Center Happy New Year

Welcome back and Happy New Year! We hope you had a joyful and relaxing break.

Great news on the fundraising front – we had some strong giving right before the end of the year, bringing us up to $54,000 in donations, helping us surpass last year’s pledge drive.

We also had some excellent use of company matching, bringing in an incredible $15,000 in additional funding.  Great news – $69,000 raised so far!!

Thank you SO MUCH to those who have taken advantage of these matches.  Altogether, it puts us right within reach of our pledge drive targets!

Reminders & Requests:

  • Committee for Racial Justice and Equity (CRJE) meeting on January 8th
  • Auction meeting on January 11th
  • No school on Monday, January 15th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Auction

The annual auction will be April 4, 2024.

The next auction meeting will be January 11th from 9:00 -10:00 am.

We will discuss donations, event computer programming, food etc.

  • We need donations, specifically neighborhood restaurants.

Donations can be dropped off at school or with one of the auction chairs.

  • Our goal is 100% participation, and we want to give opportunities so that everyone can attain this community goal in a way that works for them.

Presenting our first Auction Lead Up Event for the year:

“Got Sneakers?”

Got Sneakers collects used sneakers to recycle and pays our school by the pair for our used sneakers.  The sneakers are recycled to pave tracks at schools and parks and to rubberize playgrounds around the country.

We will have more information on the sneaker collection next week.

This event requires no sales or traditional fundraising efforts, it is outside the lines, and it is in line with our community goals of environmental protection.

PLEASE hang on to your used sneakers. More information will be provided next week.

Please note this program is available to fourth through sixth-grade students, with preference given to students attending a Title 1 school in District 3.
