What a wonderful event we had last night – thanks to ALL OF YOU. We have a great community.
A special thank you and shout out to Sara, Hallie, Kathryn and Regine – this community event would not have happened without your dedication, time and leadership. The PTA is immensely grateful for you. YOU are just a few of the many “Superheroes of The Center School”.
We look forward to seeing everyone next week. We have the TACS show and our March PTA meeting on Thursday, March 16th.

Auction
Thanks to ALL who participated in our largest community event in three years. It was so wonderful to all be together again and experience the unique Center School spirit in action with students, families, teachers mixing in the cafeteria. A special thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the night a smashing success: especially Regine and Henry, who delivered an unbelievable food spread; Julianne, whose decorations turned the cafeteria into a real Superhero headquarters; our auctioneer Jason; Mr. Puente, who made sure all the tech ran super smoothly; and Ms. Berkery, who was effectively the 4th auction co-chair! Thanks to all who opened their wallets and donated to support the unparalleled education our children are receiving at Center School. And, of course, to Ms. Schwartz and the teachers, whose raffles and trips raised an astounding amount of money.
Many families did not pick up their winnings. We will be in touch about the plan for redemption for those who didn’t.
Lastly, now that the entire school has seen this amazing event in action, we are looking for parents who want to step up and take a more active role in the auction next year. After co-chairing for four years, it’s time for new leadership — although we will be happy to advise and help out throughout the year. Questions? Email us at centerschoolauction@gmail.com

District 3 Superintendent Kamar Samuels is hosting a monthly Town Hall “Courageous Conversations about Equity.” The first one took place on 2/28 and some CRJE members participated. These Town Halls allow families and educators in D3 to connect and converse with one another about our experiences and advancing equity in schools in our District. The next Town Hall will be on the evening of Tuesday, March 21st. Be on the lookout for registration information coming from the D3 office.
Special Events
April 25th is the Center School’s Annual Writers’ Night at Prohibition located at 503 Columbus Avenue & 84 street (one block from Center School). Writers’ Night is a great way to hear Center School parents and teachers read from their very own works and a wonderful way to support our community. We look forward to seeing you at this evening of extraordinary storytelling.
