What a great night last night! We hosted our annual Chamber Music Night. 

Both Chamber Night and Writers Night were a big success. We are grateful for the wonderful turnout and incredible talent displayed by both the parents and teachers from our Center School community. See details below for our next special event, Singer/Songwriter Night, which takes place in June.

Our annual Basket Raffle is coming up. Baskets are being assembled this week. Details on how you can win one will be announced soon!

Please join us for an evening for the adults in the Center School community (families, teachers, staff, etc.) to connect with one another over food and beverages while talking about deepening the community of belonging at The Center School. Community is created through connection. And nothing helps connect people like sharing a meal together.

Food and beverages catered by Migrant Kitchen.  

*Child Supervision by Manhattan Youth and dinner for kids now available*

Teacher Appreciation Week

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK is next week, May 8-12.  We have several special things planned to honor our beloved Center School teachers, administration and staff next week.  We will be sending a dedicated email later in the week with details – for now, please plan to stop by the Center School sidewalk with your kids Sunday evening (5/7) to chalk the walk with messages of gratitude.  

Jogathon

The 36th Annual Jogathon will be hosted on Friday May 19 in Riverside Park. The Jogathon is a fundraising event for The Center School. The proceeds help send the entire school on unique year-end trips. Your student should have brought home a pledge sheet with details on how they can collect donations. If you have any questions, please contact your student’s advisor.

PTA and SLT Opportunities

We will be hosting our PTA and SLT elections in May. We currently have several positions that will be vacant next year, so we are looking for members of our community to run for office.

WHERE DO I VOTE:

From April 21 through May 9, log in to your NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) and click on the “Vote” tile to proceed to the voting site. Once there, you will automatically be presented with ballots for all the councils you are eligible to vote for—it’s that easy!         

WHY VOTE:

CCECs work directly with schools and the NYC Department of Education to advocate for all NYC students across 32 Districts and 4 Special Councils in New York City. They are an important part of effecting policy change and outreach to help make our schools work for everyone. Your vote ensures the right people get this authority.
