5th Grade Q&A and PTA Meeting – Monday, October 24th starting at 6:00 pm (Zoom)
The 5th Grade Q&A and PTA meeting will be virtual and hosted on Zoom. The Zoom
link will be sent the day of the event. We will use the same link for both meetings.
Please join us at 6:00 pm for a 5th grade Q&A session. We will host the PTA meeting at 6:30 pm directly following the Q&A.
This Week at Center School:
Advisory Bake Sale to Support World Central Kitchen – October 18th through
October 21st during lunch and directly after school!
As you may have heard, 3 weeks ago Hurricane Fiona tore through the Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea and caused terrible damage to Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Cuba.
World Central Kitchen is an international aid organization started by a chef named José Andrés. The mission of World Central Kitchen is to set up kitchens and food distribution centers in areas that have been destroyed by natural disasters and provide food for the citizens there. World Central Kitchen is able to do their work through donations, and we feel it would be important and helpful for Center School to come together in a fundraiser to help support their work as they help the people impacted by Hurricane Fiona.
This week our students’ advisories will come together to hold a bake sale in the
courtyard during lunch and right after school. Each advisory will be asking students to bring a baked item to sell. Everyone is encouraged to make purchases. At the end of the week we will total all the money and send it to World Central Kitchen.

Our ANNUAL AUCTION/POTLUCK DINNER “Superheroes of the Center School”
(to be held once again in person spring 2023) is our BIGGEST fundraiser of the year,
but we can’t make it happen without your help.
Our goal is TWO DONATIONS per family… And we’re asking everyone to submit
their first donation before the winter holiday break in December.
No donation is too big or too small!
Why should you help? Funds raised at the auction help pay for many of the things the DOE doesn’t cover that make the Center School such an amazing place: a computer teacher and much-needed school technology and supplies, enrichment programs including the theater arts TACS program, smaller class size, teaching fellows. So please help to ensure that our children continue to receive the highest quality education possible.
How do you donate? You don’t have to go to the business to ask for donations
(although it’s often best). You can call or email them the link to the online donor form. Attached is a sample letter you can give to businesses. You can also access all these forms on the school’s website.

Our fundraiser is almost over and we need your support! Have you registered your
participant for our fundraiser yet? Have you shared our fundraiser with your family and friends?
Please take a few minutes of your day to help our organization by spreading the
word. Don’t forget to place your own order, too!

Once you’ve registered your participant, use the email-invitation generator to send emails to family & friends (break out your contact list!). Can you send at least 10 emails?
Shop! Your holiday and everyday purchases will help us reach our goals.
